Homes are not just for people, but for wildlife too. It’s no secret our planet is in serious trouble and we want to do all we can to help protect it for future generations. Living in Northumberland is a great privilege and one we certainly don’t take for granted. Nature is of great importance to us, especially protecting and preserving our coasts, natural habitats and wildlife.
We are a small company with a big heart. We hope to inspire you to join us in taking action now. There is no Planet B and there’s no place like home. We can all make a difference, however small that may be. Whether its planting pollinator friendly flowers, re-wilding your garden or helping out on a local beach clean. It all makes a big difference.
Propology are proud corporate sponsors of some truly incredible organisations that are working tirelessly to conserve our natural world, right here on our own doorstep.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust
Northumberland Wildlife Trust has been saving wildlife and wild places and helping people get closer to nature since 1971.
Their Mission
‘’We believe the North East should be rich in wildlife for the benefit of everyone. Nature is central to our own health, happiness and economic prosperity so it needs to be at the heart of everything we do.
This region needs more wildlife on land and sea. We help to create and protect wildlife-rich landscapes and seas by working in partnership with landowners, local authorities, businesses and communities; by maintaining over 60 nature reserves and delivering projects to help wildlife; and by defending wildlife when it comes under threat from development and harmful policies.
We aim to create a society where nature matters – where people understand the value of nature and take action for it. To do this, we educate and inspire thousands of people every year, reconnecting them with their local environment through our visitor centres, events, campaigns and engagement programmes’’.
Surfers Against Sewage
Not just surfers, not just sewage!
We are so proud to be part of the The Ocean Network with Surfers Against Sewage. As a business we are making a difference and helping save our blue planet.
Surfers Against Sewage is a national marine conservation and campaigning charity that inspires, unites and empowers communities to take action to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife.
Their mission
‘We’re just like you – we love our oceans. We’d like to see them better protected for the future for everyone. We’re a charity that is focused on creating great community projects and campaigns that you can get involved with to do just this.
We were borne out of people’s visceral connection with the sea and their response to the pollution ruining our coastlines, whether that is sewage pollution or throwaway plastics. This direct connection with the ocean is what makes us unique and drives us in our mission for cleaner seas.
Surfers Against Sewage doesn’t describe exactly what we do anymore! Together, we’re much more than our name suggests. We’ve made great progress on cleaning up our beaches from sewage and the cleanliness of our seas remains in the DNA of the organisation. But our new priority issue is marine plastic pollution. We work on other issues too – climate change, water quality, coastal development, but plastic pollution is huge and needs a lot of attention.”
Butterfly Conservation
Founded in 1968, Butterfly Conservation is a UK-wide non profit environmentalist organization and charity dedicated to conserving butterflies, moths, and the environment.
Their mission
‘A world where butterflies and moths thrive and can be enjoyed by everyone, forever.
Butterflies and moths are a vital part of our wildlife heritage and are valuable as sensitive indicators of the health of our environment. The stark fact is that butterflies and moths continue to decline at an alarming rate, despite Butterfly Conservation’s best efforts over the last 40 years. Our data shows they are both declining faster than most other well-documented groups of plants and animals, so our task is both daunting and complex. For many species, we know what needs to be done to halt the decline and support recoveries. In order to tackle these losses and achieve the aims of the charity, we have to dramatically increase our capacity and influence over the next few years. Our work will benefit other wildlife and the ecosystems upon which all life depends.”
